WLC 400: WLC Major Capstone
Course Description:
Students work with the instructor and WLC faculty advisors to research, synthesize, write and present their Capstone projects. Students will also assemble a Graduation Portfolio reflecting how each MLO was met. This course is required for all Japanese, Spanish and World Languages and Cultures majors. (Offered spring semester.) (Credit/ No Credit Available)
Course Narrative:
This class is the second half from taking the World Language Class 300 last semester and continuing this semester. More research was done to finalize our project and translation to get our PowerPoint, Script, and Paper done on time. In this class, we worked more on presenting our Japanese Capstone Projects. We learned how to do research effectively in order to complete our review of literature, and discovered which search engines were best for our chosen topics. Also, we learned how to make a Google Form for our surveys which we used to collect data in order to answer our research questions. This was very helpful to me, as it was my first time making a Google Form, and the tips we learned in class were very useful. Once the data was collected, we then analyzed it and created a final PowerPoint presentation that combined all of our research and findings. In class we learned tips and tricks to make an appealing presentation, such as appropriate color scheme and font size. We also used Excel in order to create graphs to present the data we collected. For detail of the project itself, visit the Capstone page.
