Japn 403: Pre-Capstone
Course Description:
This course aims to develop advanced proficiency in communication through oral and written presentations to develop research project for Capstone in Japanese using appropriate media. (Credit/ No Credit Available)
Course Narratives:
This is the first half of what started as a year-long capstone project. This is the class which geared me to focus on what needed to be completed to graduate. Every major has a graduating thesis, however, the Japanese major requires a bit more than that. Not only was I able to complete the research paper in the next class, I started my research in this class. This included making my first draft of my English PowerPoint (Sweet Shop PowerPoint, 1st Draft) that I would have to edit and change until it become the finish product today. After doing literature review, I also was able to build questions of what to ask my survey participants. (English Survey) Thanks to this class, I was able to fulfill MLO 4 of learning how to properly research a topic and analyze the data I collected to present my topic accurately. We then had the task to translate what we could into Japanese over the winter break to continue our work in Japn 404.
