WLC 300: World Language Proseminar
Course Description:
This course introduces students to the majors in Japanese Language and Culture, Spanish or World Language and Cultures. Students acquire knowledge and understanding needed to fulfill Major Learning Outcomes for the programs. Students identify and work with a major adviser to develop individual learning plans. The course examines opportunities in related professional and career paths, including graduate education and teaching credential preparation. (Offered fall semester.)
Course Narrative:
The World Language ProSeminar course is what had the Japanese and Spanish Majors start on this e-portfolio. As a senior taking this class, I felt a bit lost as I never really thought about how the classes I was taking was explaining what I should have been focused on before. However, to be fair it is a 300 and up class, meant for upper division units. Reflecting on classes after they have been taken has been more difficult than if I had known these MLO first then to take the class. It was nice to think back at the classes I had taken and be proud of the work I have done until this point. The Japanese major has been quite a challenge, and reflecting my classes in this portfolio is a great way to show off this accomplishment.
